CTERCMS is going to retire by Feb. 24, 2012.
by Jinhee Choo - Thursday, 16 February 2012, 03:32 pm

Hi CTER folks,

We decided to bring down CTERCMS and CTERFILE by Feb. 24, 2012. Courses offered since Fall 2009 are moved to the College of Education moodle server, so please contact me at cteronline@illinois.edu if you need to access any of the old CTER courses. Thanks!

CTER Mahara
by Jinhee Choo - Thursday, 6 October 2011, 11:02 am

For CTER alumni who created their ePortfolio at the old CTERFile server (http://cterfile.ed.uiuc.edu/mahara/),

Due to some technical difficulty to maintain the old CTER mahara server, it is decided to shut it down by October 31, 2011. Unfortunately, the current version of the CTER Mahara server doesn’t support the automatic export feature, so users need to save each view they need following one of the ways described below:

To access your CTER Mahara views,

  1. Go to http://ctercms.ed.uiuc.edu and log in with your old CTER username and password.
  2. Click the CTER Eportfolio Server (old) link in the left top corner.

There are three ways to export data from the CTER Mahara server:

  1. Download the user's uploaded files individually
  2. Print the web pages to PDFs
  3. Use the Browsers File -> Save As tools to save the HTML down (webpage, complete) so that you could republish it somewhere else on the web.

If you need any help or more info during the process, please email me at jchoo@illinois.edu or Sharon at hhsiao2@illinois.edu. If you have any general concerns on this, please contact the program director, Dr. Pianfetti (esecaras@illinois.edu).

Thank you for your understanding!

Best,

Jin

Update on CTER Transition
by Jinhee Choo - Monday, 29 November 2010, 12:53 pm

Dear CTER students,

Nothing has changed for CTER for Spring 2011. That means the 10 week format change won't happen in Spring 2011. The department's still working on the paper work to get this approved and hope to start a new program with a new format & courses around summer 2011. You'll get an official letter once everything is set up sometime mid-next year about this.

In Spring 2011 (16 week semester long), CTER will offer 3 courses: EPSY 457 for Cohort 14 Fall and Spring, EPSY 556 for Cohort 12 and 13 Fall who need to graduate before Fall 2011, and EPSY 590VE for Cohort 12 and 13 Spring and Summer. You can see the CRNs of each course at CTERport.ed.uiuc.edu. I haven't sent out the Spring course registration information email to you yet because I still need to confirm the instructor/textbook/course moodle setup information of these three courses with the department and instructors.

In case you need more than 6 credit hour courses to take for your financial application for Spring 2011, please contact me directly asap so that I can assist you with other CTER approved elective courses from other online programs.

If you have any questions or concerns on this, please contact me. Thank you for your generous understanding!

Best,
Jin
